¨ Vince Talks About Brand New Erasure Album!

In a recent "Ask Erasure" session Vince revealed some interesting facts regarding brand new Erasure album. He said that he is hoping to use a combination of both analog and soft-synth and that they are thinking of making a more dance orientated record, as electronic sounding as possible.

¨ "Crazy" In Billboard Chart

This week Andy Bell's single "Crazy" climbed to # 11 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart (last week it was at # 17).

¨ "New York Post" Named Year's Best Downloadable Tracks

"New York Post" newspaper has published the list of year's best downloadable tracks. Erasure is number 18 with "I'll Be There" (song from their latest album "Nightbird") (thanks to MikeyC for the info).

Now you can watch two videos of Andy Bell performing in Madrid. Follow the instructions. Go to http://musica.terra.es/videos then choose one of the Andy Bell videos. Then you sholud choose fromat (elige un formato) and select your connection (selecciona tipo de conexion). After this you should click "ver video" insription.

There is a mistake in the both file names. One of the files is actually "See The Lights Go Out" and another is "Caught In A Spin".

¨ "Abba's All Time Greatest Hits" ITV1 9pm 20 Dec

Well the description of the programme is rather odd:

"20 of the band's best-loved songs are analysed using new technology that assesses a track's hit potential, to create a scientific chart of their greatest hits."

However it is supposed to include an interview with Andy Bell.

As well as the UK, ITV1 is available across continiental Europe via the Astra 2D satellite at 28.2 East, however a large dish will be required as the transmissions are tightly focussed on the UK.

¨ Manhattan Clique Email Newsletter

"Hello All

Thanks to everyone who have supported us at our various gigs with Mr Bell in Moscow, St Petersburg, Madrid and Birmingham in recent weeks - great to see so many of you down there. If you took any pictures or mpegs, it would be brilliant if you could send them to info@manhattanclique.com as we will be launching a gallery part of the site soon.

That's just about it it for this year, but we're sure there will be more shows and DJ-ing in early 2006. Plans are also in place for the next Andy Bell single, which will be released in late February - full tracklisting and more info to follow shortly.

We're working on a bunch of new remixes in the run up to Christmas for Goldfrapp ('Ride A White Horse'), The B-52's ('Loveland' & 'Mesopotamia') and one of our favourite records from the mid 90's in the form of Strike's 'U Sure Do'. We've also got plans in place for a collaboration with Claudia Brucken (Propaganda) and Paul Humphreys (OMD) who together are OneTwo. Clips of all of these will be posted on the site shortly.

Thanks to those of you who've already bought the first Manhattan Clique T Shirts - hopefully the ones that went all the way to Japan, Australia and the USA have arrived safely! ¨ Andy Bell In Express-Gazeta

Russian tabloid Express-Gazeta have published the rather funny article about Andy Bell. The title of the arictle is "Andy Bell Didn't Shy In Moscow".

The article telling about Andy's "adventures" in Moscow such as his attempts to enter gay clubs or drinking one liter of vodka. Also the article is illustrated with some photos of Andy backstage and some of the people who attended at the party (including the photo of Boris Eltsin jr. - grandson of the first Russian president and his girlfriend).

There have been quite a few exciting news updates on the ErasureInfo website in the past week - here is a summary!

¨ The New Erasure Album: "Union Street"

Erasure's eagerly anticipated acoustic album "Union Street" is to be released in the UK on the 3rd April 2006.

Named after the recording studio in Brooklyn where it was recorded, the album features a collection of the bands previously released songs, reinterpreted in an acoustic / country & western style.

Andy Bell revealed his thoughts about the album in an interview last year:

"I said a few years back (that) I would love to do a Country & Western album and this is kind of a half-half. It's done in the country style on some tracks and we got violins, cellos, all different kinds of instruments and it was really a pleasure to do it and rediscover some of the old songs that we thought could have been singles that never were.

It's just really different singing with acoustic instruments than singing with synthesisers. I think it's some of the best singing that I've ever done..." [erasureinfo.com]

¨ Andy Bell Appearance In Spain

As previously mentioned in the AndyBell.com newsletter, Andy (with Philip and Chris from Manhattan Clique) will be performing in Madrid on World Aids Day this Thursday 1st December.

They will be playing a 30 minute set (approximately) at around 11.15pm.
