¨ EIS Website News - Andy Bell Appearance In Spain

Andy (with Philip and Chris from Manhattan Clique) will be performing in Madrid on World Aids Day this Thursday 1st December.

They will be playing a 30 minute set (approximately) at around 11.15pm.

¨ Andy Bell In Hello!

Small interview with Andy Bell has been published in this week's issue of Hello! magazine (russian edition) (# 48 (89) 29th November 2005).

¨ Erasure Appearance - Palm Springs (4th Feb 2006)

Erasure will be performing at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.

The gala will be emceed by Debbie Reynolds, presenting awards to honorees will be Angela Lansbury and Shirley MacLaine.

In addition to the live performances by Barbara Cook and Erasure, the evening features cocktails, dinner and silent and live auctions.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Desert AIDS Project.

¨ Erasure And Andy Bell On MTV Russia

This weekend MTV Russia as usual will be airing their music 'news of the week' program "News-block weekly". "News-block weekly" features the so called "Rekordnye novosti" ("Record news") which are actually the reviews of the new releases made by various russian guest stars. This week guest star was russian DJ duo Vengeroff & Fedoroff who are well known in Russia with their reworkings of the themes from old russian comedy moovies. Vengeroff & Fedoroff reviewed latest Erasure album "Nightbird" which is quite strange because it was released in January 2005. Moreover, the part of the "News-block weekly" with Vengeroff & Fedoroff was filmed in summer (judging on the nature behind them).

Vengeroff & Fedoroff gave "Nightbird" the least possible amount of points - 2 with long minus.

Also "News-block weekly" features another part called "Paparazzi" in which they usually showing behind the scenes footage filmed at various clubs or events. This time they will be showing Andy Bell performing at the club "Billionaire" in Moscow.

¨ Erasure Contributes To Bid 2 Beat AIDS

Bid 2 Beat AIDS is a huge entertainment memorabilia auction, which will occur on eBay beginning December 1, 2005 (World AIDS Day), with proceeds going to LIFEbeat, the music industry's AIDS fundraising and service charity. The auction lasts exactly ten days.

The auction features hundreds of rare autographed items from stars in music, film, theatre and television such as Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Eurythmics, Madonna, U2, Village People, Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Cruise and many more. ¨ Dave Gahan Sings Oh L'Amour

The former Vince Clarke band Depeche Mode is currently on tour  promoting their new album "Playing The Angel". The band were rehearsing for "Touring The Angel" tour in Santa Barbara, and in New York. Rehearsing the song "Goodnight Lovers" the Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan sung a very short excerpt of Erasure's "Oh L'Amour". ¨ Amnesty Holds "Imagine A World" Exhibition

Martyn Ware and Vince Clarke (aka Illustrious Company), have teamed up with human rights charity Amnesty International to create an art installation highlighting violence against women.

Heaven 17 founder Ware and Clarke, of Erasure, want the public to contribute to their sound installation. They want people to leave messages on an answerphone with their thoughts on a world without violence against women. They will be using the responses to create a unique three dimensional sound installation.

Amnesty hopes that the exhibition will make people think about how violence against women impacts on their own lives. Martyn Ware said: “I’ve got a daughter of my own and I hate having to worry about her safety. If this exhibition can make people stop and think, then it’s done its job. The more people that phone up the better and more varied the work will be – and of course if you’re part of it, it’s a great reason to come to the gallery and hear it!”

It has been announced that new Erasure DVD "The Erasure Show - Live In Cologne" have a hidden bonus material, but there are some difficulties with finding its location. Here are the instructions (thanks to PaGu):

Firstly you must enter the "bonus" section of the DVD, then highlight the leaf with the arrow (back function), press "left", press "down", press "up" (the leaf on the bottom-left - see picture above, become grey), press "left" and then press "enter" and... here it is!

 - the acoustic album is next for Erasure and is due out in April 2006. Live dates are being planned for the new year also;
 - the songs for the b-sides album have not been finalized yet;

 - he would love to appear in a John Waters film;
 - hе wouldn't mind participating in a reality TV show where they transform pop artists into opera singers;
 - Vince has six songs written for the new Erasure album.

¨ Liquid 360 Covered Erasure

Liquid 360 is synthesizer programmer / engineer Mitch Williams and vocalist / DJ / producer Bruce Donally. During the past four years they have turned their attention to dance music, remixing many popular artists (Cher, The Black Eyed Peas, Mya and others). Last year they made a cover version of Erasure hit "Chains Of Love". Liquid 360's first official release, "Shake Down" EP has been released recently. It includes two bonus tracks, one of them is "Chains Of Love (Don't Give Up Anthem)".

¨ Vince's Head Gear - Competition Results

This was the question:

Q: The first article of this EIS Newsletter (giving details of the DVD) mentions six Erasure songs that was performed during the Erasure Show. What are the six songs that are mentioned? (hint - one of them is hidden).

And the answer:

A: Sometimes.

Here is how you get the answer:

Clue 1) "...mentions six Erasure songs" - six songs have been mentioned - therefore the answer is the title of an actual song.

Clue 2) "...performed during the Erasure Show" - that should have narrowed it down quite a lot. The set lists from many of the Erasure Shows are available on the EIS site, as well as the track listing of the Erasure Show DVD.

Clue 3) "one of them is hidden" - so the song title is hidden. Is it the DVD Easter Egg, as that was mentioned? (See clue 4).

Clue 4) "It will be interesting to read your reviews of the DVD..."- this was a link to the EIS Forum where people have revealed what the DVD Easter Egg actually is, and reading these posts one can determine that it is not a song. Plus I wouldn't expect you to purchase a DVD in order to enter a competition.

Therefore the name must be mentioned within the EIS Newsletter itself. A common answer was "Treasure" (hidden within the URL of the E-Card) however that wasn't performed on the tour (see clue 2), and ignores the instructions within the question (see clue 5).

Clue 5) "first article of this EIS Newsletter mentions six Erasure songs" - this is an explicit instruction drawing your attention to the first nine paragraphs of the newsletter, and that the song is mentioned within that.

Clue 6) "Start of..." - a slightly obscure clue, but the opening sentence hints to look at the start / beginning.

Taking all the above into account, if you take the beginning letter that started each paragraph:

¨ 'The Erasure Show - Live In Cologne DVD' Out Now! (North

Start of the week and another e-mail newsletter!

Out now in the UK and Europe is 'The Erasure Show - Live in Cologne' DVD.

Much anticipated by fans, the 'Live in Cologne' DVD was filmed on the band's incredible tour earlier this year, described by The Independent as "magical and cinematic".

Extra material on the DVD includes three live tracks from Copenhagen (recorded in 2003), an exclusive interview with the band, a Making of... documentary, the videos for 'Breathe', 'Don't Say You Love Me' and 'All This Time Still Falling Out Of Love' plus a hidden Easter Egg.
