MC Kinky Again
Here is a quote from the post of Erasure Forum member 'marcmassive', who is the curator of the annual Act Art event:
"We're extremely honoured to be welcoming Andy Bell to the Act Art stage on Friday 7th November with 30 live shows in the main arch alone (the venue is a super huge 5 arch venue). Andy will be the headline artist and should be on the main stage (Arch 2) around midnight. The main stage show starts at 9.30 pm and features amongst others Feral, who some of you will be more familiar with her alter ego MC Kinky who featured on Erasure's #1 smash hit "Take A Chance On Me."

New Remix Of "Always"
As you know, Andy Bell recently performed live at the Station 4 club in Dallas. The last song of his performance was "Always". The backing track for "Always" was not an original 1994 version of the song but the new, unreleased remix. Click here to watch Andy's performance (unfortunately sound quality far from good).
Last thursday Andy was DJing at the Hiro Ballroom in New York. There is a short clip on Youtube which shows Andy playing the same new remix of "Always".
Celebrate 30 Years Of Mute Records
To celebrate 30 years of one of Britain's greatest - and most innovative - labels, Q Radio looks back at the life and times of Mute Records with a special documentary.
Sonic Mute will chronicle the imprint that introduced the world to Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Erasure and Moby, as well as providing a home for many years to acts such as Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds and Richard Hawley.
Q Radio exclusively interviews label founder Daniel Miller - who was also the first artist to release anything on Mute with his electro-punk single Warm Leatherette/TVOD in 1978.
The programme is to be broadcast on October 14 at 9pm and repeated on October 18 at 8pm. You can hear a short clip of Miller speaking in the documentary about Mute's early days and his experiments with The Normal here.
And you can hear Q Radio live here. |

August Andy Bell Interview
In another interview given to Logo in August, Andy Bell revealed some additional info about forthcoming Erasure release and his plans for next year:
"I’m just working on some solo material, which is a third of the way through. So hopefully it should be finished by the end of this year to come out next year. And there’s an Erasure Pop Hits 2 coming out in October, which is all the singles we’ve had released, from “Always” onwards. And then I might be doing some piano recital stuff in March here in the U.K. in a place called the De La Warr Pavilion, which is in Bexhill, near Hastings. It’s a thing for Michael Nyman, he’s playing down there. We haven’t worked it out yet what we’re going to do, but it’s quite a number of singers doing stuff with him. And that’s about it, really. And Dallas Pride, of course!"

EIS Newsletter: "Andy Bell Live Performance At 'Act Art'"
Hello
Andy Bell Live Performance At 'Act Art' (7th Nov - London)
Act Art is an international platform for artists working in all disciplines including performance, live art, film, video, installation, site specific, painting, drawing, and photography. Act Art provides a testing ground for new experimental, radical, confrontational and non-mainstream work made by artists from different cultural backgrounds and genders and united by an interest in the body in the broadest sense. Act Art was launched in 2003 in an attempt to create an art/ club event that celebrates difference and aims to programme work in alternative spaces away from the institutional art world / gallery system.
The 6th annual Act Art event theme Dying For It! address's what's wrong with the world today. For example negative moral or ethical judgments, cruel, unjust and selfish human behaviour, war and diseases like Cancer and Aids. Poverty, famine and global warming caused by human actions, CCTV, censorship, celebrity culture, and the whole media circus that not only provides zero privacy to today's people in the main stream public eye such as Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears, but also play a part in early loss of lives notably Princess Diana, Anna Nicole Smith and so on.
PA and live performances include Andy Bell from Erasure, fresh from the U.S. True Colors Tour who will be performing several of his world wide hits on the night as well as tracks from his debut album Electric Blue.
