¨ Erasure On McFly Single

Today british boys-band McFly release their new single "I Wanna Hold You" on 2 CD and a DVD. The DVD part of the single contains "McFly Home Movie" which includes backstage footage from McFly Blackpool gig with Erasure singing in the background "Oh L'Amour" and "Breathe". Erasure also performed at that gig several songs so that is why they are appearing that way on McFly single (see news for 5th September 2005). Here are details of this DVD:

¨ "The Erasure Show - Live In Cologne" DVD - Press Release

"The Erasure Show – Live In Cologne” was filmed on the band's incredible tour earlier this year, described by The Independent as “magical and cinematic”. The Erasure Show tour coincided with the release of their latest album, Nightbird, and the DVD includes many of the singles (including All This Time Still Falling Out Of Love, the band’s 32nd consecutive Top 40 hit) from Nightbird plus live favourites such as A Little Respect and Oh L’Amour.

This new DVD gives viewers a chance to see Andy Bell’s breathtaking rendition of Ave Maria and Vince Clarke take to the mic for a version of Blondie's Rapture from the 2005 tour which included a record breaking ten sold out nights at New York's Irving Plaza as well as sold out dates throughout Europe and the UK.

The bonus DVD features three live tracks from Copenhagen (recorded in 2003) which includes a cover of Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel's Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me) plus an exclusive interview with the band and Making of… documentary. On top of this, the DVD includes the videos for Breathe, Don’t Say You Love Me and All This Time Still Falling Out Of Love plus a Hidden Easter Egg.

Russian newspaper "Vremya Novostey" ("News' Time") have published an article and interview with Andy called "Monro S Kruil'yamy" ("Monroe With The Wings") at their website. You can read it here (in russian).

US gay magazine "EXP" have published an exclusive interview with Andy in its latest issue (# 61, 30.09 - 13.10.05) with Andy Bell on the cover. It is also have been published at "EXP" website, you can read it here.

Irish gay magazine "GCN" also have published an interview with Andy in its latest issue and also put Andy Bell on the cover (pay some attention to it and look how they titled other articles of this issue). Andy talks about the new album, his health and interestingly the nursery rhymes album. He says himself and Vince wanted to do a talking book but now have decided to do an album of fairytales with perhaps a creepy dark element to them. He also mentions that Vince has had a son and that Manhattan Clique were great to work with. He mentions having minimum plastic surgery and says that the music world is still very homophobic in places (thanks to pmrelliott for the info).

¨ 'Electric Blue' Out Today In Germany

Remember: Andy's solo album 'Electric Blue' is out today in Germany (30th Sept), the UK Monday (3rd Oct) and North American Tuesday (4th Oct).
