Erasure Release - 29th September?

Had one of those moments this morning when my e-mail in-box took longer than usual to download, all due to a huge amount of queries about the same thing - HMV.

I'm sorry to say that no, there isn't an Erasure release this week, despite what has been published in September's HMV "new releases" flyer.

You know how these things work - whenever there is a new Erasure single / album etc the Erasure website will publish audio clips / news / artwork in the weeks preceding the release date, and the newsletters will have weird subject titles that make no sense whatsoever - that kind of thing.

Rest assured, when the next Erasure release is ready to be announced, you'll get all the facts here first.

I Amsterdam. Am I Right?

Back in 1991 Erasure filmed their video for the song "Am I Right?" in Amsterdam. "Am I Right?" was the third single from the "Chorus" album. Filming of the video took place in various parts of Amsterdam, such as Homomonument, Muntplein square, Kloveniersburgwal canal, Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge) and others. Here are some present-day photos of those places and original screenshots from "Am I Right?" video (photos: Twilight 0.2, acting: Truckdriver). Click on image to enlarge.

A Hint Of Suspicion

Speaking about new Erasure postcards, there is one interesting graphic element on the back cover of the cards which remains similar elements from Erasure's "Pop! - The First 20 Hits" era. See pictures below:

Also, some of you may noticed that classic Erasure logo (which can be seen at the top-left corner of this page) is back. It is on the new Erasure merchandise and on official Erasure website.
