Vince Soundchecks At Ghostgirl: Homecoming Launch Event

Vince soundchecks before previewing a portion of the original underscore he composed for Tonya Hurley's ghostgirl: Homecoming audiobook at a launch event for the novel at the Jefferson Market branch of the New York Public Library on July 16. The standing room only event featured a reading by the author with live musical accompaniment from Vince. His underscore for the first ghostgirl novel is included in that audiobook and set for release later this month via the Recorded Books website and for download via audible.com and itunes. It is narrated by Parker Posey.

Vince Clarke

His score for ghostgirl: Homecoming is currently in production and will be released as part of that audiobook, also narrated by Posey, later this year.

One of the attendees on this event described Vince's music like a "a pleasant but demented carnival".

Erasure: "Erasure"

Erasure's self-titled 1995 album "Erasure" is being re-released as LCDSTUMM145 in jewel case format (previously only available in the UK in digipac casing) next week. It can be pre-ordered now in Erasure Shop.

EIS Newsletter:

Hello

Following my Spanish and Portuguese newsletter sign-offs over the last couple of weeks, this week's guest language is Hawaiian (thanks to David!) and as 'Aloha' means both hello and goodbye I have also started this email with it... it has a good summertime feel to it I think, and I do hope that everyone is having a good summer!

Thank you so much to everyone who got in touch with merchandise suggestions to go with The Innocents 2009 release following last week's newsletter... lots of food for thought there, watch this space!

A few bits and pieces for you this week...

Erasure.Club T-Shirt Pre-Order Ends Today!

If you want to pre-order the Erasure.Club EP with a limited-edition EIS Erasure.Club t-shirt then you need to get moving because the t-shirts are only available to order until the end of TODAY (July 28th) and will never be reprinted! Check out the Official Erasure Shop at Lexer Music for all the details! Meanwhile the Erasure.Club EP - six promo-only remixes of classic Erasure tracks that were sent to clubs back in 1990 and never commercially released - will be released on August 10th.

"Erasure.Club" EP

ABBA-Esque Remixes - Download Edition

It has been pointed out that although I announced this a couple of months ago I've not mentioned it since, so here is a reminder that on August 10th Mute Records will make the classic Erasure Abba-esque remixes available again via digital download. The bundle will feature the four remixes originally released on CD and 12" Vinyl in 1992. See the June news section at ErasureInfo.com for the tracklisting and more details.

'Oh L'Amour' As You've Never Heard It Before...

It seems that Erasure have provided the inspiration for a new theme tune for the rather confusingly named Liverpool football team in Uruguay. You can hear the song here!

News Now Available Via RSS And Twitter

I've been tinkering with ErasureInfo.com over the last few weeks and am pleased to announce that all the news that is posted on ErasureInfo.com is now available to you via a RSS feed which also automatically publishes to Erasure's official Twitter feed!

Hello

Before I get on to this week's news I need to remind you that if you want to pre-order the Erasure.Club EP with a limited-edition EIS Erasure.Club t-shirt then you need to get moving because the t-shirts are only available to order until the end of the day next Tuesday (July 28th) and will never be reprinted! That's less than a week so check out the Official Erasure Shop at Lexer Music for all the details!

On the subject of merchandise I've been having a chat with Alan over at Lexer Music about whether we should do some merchandise to mark the release of The Innocents 2009 in October and although we have had a few ideas we thought the best people to ask are you guys, so please email me if you have any suggestions for merchandise with an Innocents theme... obviously we can't say that we'll produce everything you suggest but I promise that we will consider each and every suggestion you send our way!

Here's one from the official Vince Clarke website... Vince has created several pieces of original instrumental music for the upcoming audiobook of Tonya Hurley's young adult novel 'ghostgirl'. The audiobook will be released this month by Recorded Books and available unabridged on CD and tape via the company's website and as a digital download on itunes and audible.com. EIS Newsletter [14.07.09]:

Hello

A few weeks ago in this newsletter I mentioned that there were all sorts of exciting Erasure plans in the pipeline that I was looking forward to telling you about, and I'm very excited this week to announce another of them, the 'Phantom Bride' EP...

New Erasure Release - The 'Phantom Bride' EP!

'Phantom Bride', from Erasure's 1988 album The Innocents, will be released by Mute Records as a special EP on October 12th. Featuring brand new remixes from Almighty, Frankmusik, Dogmatix and Vince Clarke the EP will be released as a CD and via digital download. That's all I know at the moment, but as soon as I have more information I'll post it on the website and let you know!

The Innocents 2009 - Release Date

Mute Records have announced that the much anticipated 21st anniversary edition of Erasure's 1988 album The Innocents will be released on October 26th and will be available as a standard and a deluxe edition. Again, more information when it's available but I will say that you're going to love the deluxe edition!

Erasure.Club EP - Audio Samples Online

I've added a little audio player to the news page at ErasureInfo.com so you can now listen to extracts from all six of the remixes featured on the Erasure.Club EP which will be released on August 10th. The extracts are also available to listen to on Erasure's MySpace page. The EP is available for pre-order at Lexer Music's Official Erasure Shop along with a special Erasure.Club t-shirt, more about that below!

Limited Edition Erasure.Club T-Shirt

In the last newsletter I promised you I'd try and photograph the Erasure.Club t-shirts that I have had printed up as samples, but at the time I had no idea it would be so difficult to photograph them in a way that makes them look as good as they do look! However I have done my best and you can see the results of my efforts also in the news section at ErasureInfo.com... remember that the shirts are only available via pre-order from Lexer Music's Erasure Shop before JULY 28th!

Last week, in the spirit of our international Erasure family, I signed off my newsletter with a spirited 'Muchos Gracias' which only served to demonstrate my lack of knowledge of the Spanish language because I now know that I should have said 'Muchas Gracias', so here you go...

Muchas Gracias!

Enjoy your week...

Richard

EIS Newsletter [07.07.09]:

Hello

It has been brilliant this week to have received such positive feedback to the Erasure.Club CD/T-Shirt bundles that are now available for pre-order from The Erasure Shop (Lexer Music), thank you everyone. This week I received printed samples of the t-shirts and although I say so myself they look great. My challenge this week is to try and photograph them for you in a way that shows off the quality of both the shirts and the screenprinting... wish me luck!

Erasure.Club CD + EIS T-Shirt Pre-Order

Mute Records will release Erasure.Club, the six-track Erasure remix EP, on August 10th. You can pre-order the CD in The Erasure Shop at Lexer Music who are also exclusively stocking the EIS Erasure.Club t-shirts. Please note that the t-shirts won't be available after July 28th or be reprinted again in the future... check out the range of offers now!

Vince Clarke Synth Gallery

I found this site during my online wanderings this week, it's a gallery of photographs of Vince's synth collection taken by producer Gareth Jones. If I'm honest one synth looks much like another to me, but I know that there are a lot of you out there who are rather more technically minded than I am and this is one for all of you!

In Search Of The Innocents... An Erasure Blog

My blog is still getting lots of attention and feedback from you all, and I'm very happy to say that it has been updated again this week with more progress in the form of an interview with costume designer Dean Bright who was responsible for the costumes that were introduced at the end of The Innocents tour for the filmed performance at Birmingham's NEC that eventually became the 'Innocents' VHS video release! Check it out on the website!

Alison Moyet Celebrates 25 Years Live

Slightly off-topic I know but, given her work with Vince in Yazoo and the fact that she's one of Andy's favourite singers, I thought I'd mention that Alison Moyet has this week announced a big UK tour to mark her first 25 years as a solo artist and the dates are online for you at the Yazoo website!

Muchos Gracias!

Cheers

EIS Newsletter [30.06.09]:

Hello

My Erasure life is all about The Innocents 2009 and the Erasure.Club CD at the moment so it's really nice to be able to update you on both of those projects this week, particularly to announce the pre-sale of Erasure.Club bundled with a brand new t-shirt that I have designed exclusively for the EIS! Here's where I'm at...

Erasure.Club CD + EIS T-Shirt Pre-Order

As you know, Mute Records will release Erasure.Club, a six-track Erasure remix EP, on August 10th. The EP is now ready for pre-order from The Erasure Shop (Lexer Music) alongside three brand new Erasure t-shirts based on the original 12" record sleeves, my first t-shirt designs since taking over the running of the EIS.

Searching For The Innocents... An Erasure Blog

It has been fantastic to get such a great response to my 'In Search Of The Innocents' blog on ErasureInfo.com. The idea is that I track down and interview everyone who worked on the original album, and record my process in the blog. I am very happy to say that I have been updating it regularly and there are now interesting interviews with The Kick Horns (the brass section featured on The Innocents) and TV & Radio Plugger Neil Ferris online now!

Have a great week...

Cheers

Richard
