Andy Bell - Solo Album News

Andy Bell gave an exclusive interview to XM Radio's "The Agenda With Joe Solmonese" in which he revealed that so far they've done about 10 songs and he is really happy with the songs. There are few dance numbers among them. Also he confirmed that he is working with Steven Hague, who produced Erasure's "The Innocents" album. Andy is gonna be working on the album for the next couple of weeks and the album will be released next year.

Also Andy told what he is currently listening in his iPod. These are Roisin Murphy album (which he is very like), Madonna album and many electronic remixes stuff.

Andy also talked about "The True Colors" tour, his relationships with Vince Clarke, HIV, his home in Spain and other stuff.

Further Erasure Plans

In a recent interview Vince Clarke revealed what is next for Erasure:

"Well I don't know. I think that working on this stuff, this old Yazoo stuff I think it will inform our next record.

It's very intriguing the way that everything was so stripped back then and still sounds quite strong and powerful I think, so we may well adopt that approach for our next recording with Erasure. Stripped back and something a little harder...

...We'll probably start writing again in the middle of next year."

Andy Bell At The International Mr. Leather Contest

On Sunday, 25th May Andy Bell performed live at the 30th International Mr. Leather Contest which was being held in Chicago. He sung around 10 songs. Half his set was solo stuff (songs from "Electric Blue") and the other half was Erasure. Interesting thing is that some of the tracks were performed in remixed form. Here is the setlist:

Erasure "Top 5 At 5" (VH1 Classic UK)

On Wed 25th June at 17:00 the UK digital channel "VH1 Classic" will be playing their top five Erasure songs. Also showing that evening at 00:00 (midnight) is the programme "Electronic 80s" featuring the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Haircut 100 and Yazoo (Vince Clarke & Alison Moyet).

Back in 2000, Family Fantastic released an album entitled "...Nice!", a pastiche of 70's disco classics which featured the talents of Vince Clarke, Phil Creswick, Jason Creasey, Val Chalmers and Emma Whittle.

The highly anticipated second Family Fantastic album "Wonderful" starring Daphne Diamant, James Gray, Phil Creswick and featuring Vince Clarke and Nick Carter is an album of songs inspired from the 1950's and 1960's.

"In this album, Vince's synth wizardry mixes beautifully with Nick Carters orchestrations. The simplicity of the songs allows you to hear all the sounds Vince uses in each and every song. The album was mixed and mastered in the same "raw" way as in the 50's."

Family Fantastic - "You Are The Melody" Available Now

"You Are The Melody" is a stand alone Family Fantastic single that hasn't been included on any of the Family Fantastic albums. "You Are The Melody" was intended for Eurovision song contest, but it hasn't been choosed. Vince Clarke was not involved in the creation of "You Are The Melody" and "Coochycoo" (b-side of the single). Nevertheless, "You Are The Melody" is a great tune that features long time Erasure backing singers Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle on vocals.

"You Are The Melody" is now available as a 2 track digital download from iTunes:

Phil Creswick, one of the Family Fantastic band members, has put the following message at Erasure Forum:

Interview With Vince Clarke / Yazoo Live Album

In a brand new interview for Side-Line Vince Clarke revealed that Yazoo live album will be released:

"There are indeed plans to record the London shows with Liveherenow, but they won't be released like we did with Erasure, instead it should be a finished product, well produced and all in a studio whilst taking the time to deliver a proper product that meets the standards we want."
