Andy Bell Award Up For Auction
Andy is auctioning the BPI silver disc he received in 1988 or Erasure's 'Two Ring Circus' album to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Trust charity.

Rett Syndrome is the most physically disabling of the autism spectrum disorders. Ah ben, salut!
At the weekend, while the rest of the UK was out and about enjoying the best weather we've had here for some time, I was locked away inside a darkened room coding, formatting and uploading in order to put the 98(!) entries in the 'Say What You Want' remix competition online for you to vote on this week. Actually it was a pleasure to listen to all the remixes, and I have to say there are some absolutely cracking entries, a sentiment echoed by Andy himself who posted this message on Twitter; 'i have to say i'm absolutely f--king gobsmacked at the quality mixes for say what you want remix comp incredible thanks guys xx'. We need to enjoy more.'... thanks Marcelo!

The iPhone...
The success of the online computer game 'Robot Unicorn Attack', which uses Erasure's 'Always' as its soundtrack, is set to continue as the game becomes available for the iPhone on June 1st. Petr Muk (Ocean) R. I. P.
Thank you to everyone who got in touch with the very sad news that Czech singer Petr Muk passed away this week. Petr, and his band Ocean, supported Erasure on their 'Wild!' tour and Petr also paid tribute to Erasure when he released his own version of 'Oh L'Amour' in 2004, a version that Andy Bell described as being the best he had ever heard. Our thoughts go out to Petr's family, friends and fans.

You Are The Melody My Love...
Finally, the video of Family Fantastic' "You Are The Melody" comes to light on Youtube! Family Fantastic is a band, that features Vince Clarke, long time Erasure backing vocalists Valerie Chalmers and Emma Whittle, Jason Creasey (who remixed Erasure's "Freedom" and "Moon And The Sky") and Vince's collaborator, former Big Fun member Phil Creswick.
So far, Family Fantastic released two albums: "...Nice!" in 2000 and "Wonderful" in 2007. "You Are The Melody" is a stand alone single of Family Fantastic, it was released digitally in 2007. The song itself was written several years ago for the Eurovision song contest for UK but unfortunately left out.
The video was filmed and edited by Vince's friend Lewis Man.

EIS Newsletter:
Alright?
I'm trying to get this newsletter out a little earlier in the day than usual because tomorrow sees Andy Bell's appearance at Mencap's charity concert 'Our Friends Acoustic' at the IndigO2 in London and I wanted to share the details of our pre-show meet-up in plenty of time!
Thank you to everyone who emailed me to say they were up for a little informal gathering before the show, and especially to those who suggested possible meeting places at the O2! The venue is the Union Square bar in the O2 complex and I suggest we meet-up from about 6.30pm… if I remember the place correctly the bar itself runs across the back of the room so why don't we congregate at the end of the bar on the left hand side as you're facing it? See you there!
Here's the news…
Andy Bell DJ Set And 'Non-Stop' Signing Session
Pure Groove have updated their website with more details of Andy's instore DJ set and signing session which is taking place on June 11th.
Andy Bell At The Sony Radio Academy Awards
On Monday night Andy was one of the guest presenters at the Sony Radio Academy Awards in London where he was very warmly received as he presented the award for 'Digital Station of the Year' to Planet Rock. Andy Bell Radio Interviews
Last week Andy spent a day pre-recording a number of radio interviews to run alongside the upcoming releases of his 'Call On Me' single and 'Non-Stop' album. You can see the full list of stations involved on Andy's website and I will post transmission details when I have them.
A couple of stations have already broadcast their interviews and you can listen to two of them online (Andy's interview with John Marshall at Lincs FM is streaming on Andy's website while Real Radio Yorkshire's interview is available via their listen again facility) and Arrow FM (Hastings), Bright FM (Mid Sussex), Sovereign FM (Eastbourne) and Splash FM (Worthing) will all broadcast Chris Copsey's interview with Andy between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday, see Andy's website for more details.
Andy Bell 'Non-Stop' Flyers

Meet Andy Bell At 'Our Friends Acoustic' - Competition Winner
I hadn't spoken to the winner of the 'Interview Andy Bell' competition in time to announce her name in last week's newsletter, but the winner is Andrea Cox and she will be interviewing Andy for his website at the 'Our Friends Acoustic' show tomorrow evening. I hope to have that interview online for you early next week… wish her luck!
Erasure - 25 Years...
September will mark 25 years since the release of 'Who Needs Love Like That', Erasure's first single, and to mark this special anniversary Emiliano had put together a tribute in the form of a special montage of pictures and music which you can watch here. Thank you Emiliano!
Clare suggested a while ago that I use the ancient Essex dialect for the greeting and farewell in one of my newsletters and - partly because Essex is where I grew up, but mostly because I've run out of proper language suggestions - I thought I'd give it a whirl this week… thanks Clare!

"Vince is one of my close friend, he did this for me about 10 years ago... He was just try to cheer me up as i was very ill at the time, and i had just lost my father in a car crash! I know i am not a good singer, but the meaning for what he has done for me is far more important than anything else, it shows he's got a good heart and care about his friends :) . Thanks Vince... Robot Unicorn Attack Inspires 'Always' Music Box Version…
Another oddity for you. I got an email this week from Lauren who was sufficiently inspired playing the online game Robot Unicorn Attack that she decided to make a Kikkerland Music Box version of the Erasure's 'Always' - which you can see her play on YouTube…
Lauren also suggested Klingon for this week's newsletter greeting and farewell, although she does qualify her suggestions by saying 'As Klingons tend not to say hello and goodbye (they just walk up to people, speak their piece and then walk away - or kill them) these phrases are the closest you'll get'. Thank you Lauren, Klingon it is!
Qapla!
