EIS
- "Andy Bell - I'll Never Fall In Love Again - Exclusive
Downloads"
Hello!
Well all good things must come to an
end, and sadly the 'Erasure Acoustic' tour has now concluded.
But what a tour it was! I was blown away by the beautiful
arrangements of the classic songs and the sheer energy behind the
performances.
So what's next for Erasure?
Well as mentioned in several recent interviews, the band are getting
busy with their brand new album (with Gareth Jones as the producer),
which is penciled in for a release early next year. It seems that
Andy and Vince's enthusiasm for creating music continues unabated!
However before all that...

Erasure News, Plans And Facts
In a recent interview taken by DJ Ron
Slomowicz from Dancemusic.about.com just before beginning the US leg
of Erasure tour in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium Andy and Vince
told some interesting news and facts and spoke about their future
plans. Here are the most intersting parts of this interview:
RS: So after Union Street
you're going to be doing a new album?
Andy Bell: Yes, we're doing a new album, yes. Electro pop
again.
RS: Andy, you're DJing a
lot now, how do you prepare for a DJ set?
Andy Bell: Well, I must admit, it's much more nervewracking
doing a DJ set than it is playing live, to me anyway, because my
records are becoming quite old-fashioned. I go back to my original
electronic albums that I brought as a teenager that I kind of bought
on CD. And so it's kind of like stuff by The Human League remixed,
lots of Giorgio Moroder stuff, which includes Japan and Donna Summer
stuff that he's done by himself like I Want to Rock You and some of
the Flirts, and Madonna remixes. So it's kind of a mishmash really,
bits of Miss Kittin and some modern stuff; it's a bit of a mixture.
RS: Have you thought about
taking up remixing again?
Andy Bell: Well I do like remixing, but I have to do it with
other people because I'm not really an engineer, I'm not really
technical, but I do like getting ideas for remixes, yes.
RS:
Of all the remixes done of Erasure stuff, what's been your favorite?
Andy Bell: I would say the mixes that Cappella did for
Always, that William Orbit did for Supernature and Star, and that
Gareth Jones did for Blue Savannah, the Der Deutsche mixes.
Vince Clarke: Anything by William Orbit, he did a great remix
for Ship of Fools, that I really liked.
RS: Do you have a dream
collaborator that you would love to work with one day?
Vince Clarke: I think if Paul Simon came along and said to me
'would you like to produce my album, my next album, or do the synth
work,' then I would be up for it.
Andy Bell: I don't know really. I would love to work with
Mirwais who did several of Madonna's albums, or Miss Kittin, because
I think she's fantastic.
RS:
Have you ever thought of doing a one-off or EP reunion with Alison
Moyet?
Vince Clarke: Well, we've toyed with the idea, but our
careers have gone in different directions. I mean Alison now is
acting on the stage and she's also been involved in musicals. So, it
would be certainly a nice thing to do in the future, but we have no
definitive plans.
RS: Taking the Union Street experience in, do you think that
will affect
your
next album, what you do next?
Vince Clarke: Well, I don't know. I'm sure it will, although
I don't think that we'll be collaborating with other musicians like
we did on this record. We've signed up with a producer already for
the next record and we always tend to work with a producer, but I'd
like to make this record as electronic-sounding as possible.
RS: Can I ask who the producer is?
Vince Clarke: Gareth Jones.
RS: Nice. What are you
listening to currently in the electronic world?
Vince Clarke: In the electronic world, probably not a lot. At
the moment, I'm obsessed with Cat Stevens.

"The after party at the gayest and

himself for a couple of hours (the music was awesome), and in
between dancing, talking to Erasure cute guys and gals and just not
believing the whole experience, I kept staring at Andy through the

interest, and each will be contacted via e-mail to inform them of
their successful selection.
Footage recorded via a phone will need to be sent to a e-mail
address (which will be specified later). Those that record footage
with their camcorders will need to hand over their video tape at the
end of the show (hence the requirement for full address details
being provided to allow for tapes to be returned). A waiver will
also need to be signed.
(*) Please Note: The fact that a show is being filmed does not
guarantee a DVD release.
(**) Make sure you select 'Nashville (Audience Filming)' as the
subject, and include your name, address, contact phone number and
indicate how you plan to film the show (camcorder or phone).

'Re-Union Street' Convention
I understand from one of the event organisers that there are not
many tickets left for the 'Re-Union Street' Convention that is being
held on the 5th August, therefore if you are interested in going
then I suggest you purchase tickets soon.

Remember that this isn't an EIS organised event, so the best place
to ask questions would be this following thread on the forum:

Away From Office: 1st May, 4th May - 9th May
Just a quick note to say that I will be away from the office from
the 4th May to the 9th May, as I'll be in Nashville, and the 1st May
is a Bank Holiday.
Therefore:
- no merchandise orders will be processed
- no e-mails will be answered (either sent directly or via the
'contact' section of the website)
- no replies to threads on the forum
during this time.
