Boy (Remix)
Here are some info about exclusive US remix of "Boy" made by Pete
Anderson.
In re-recording the tracks for the
remix of "Boy", Grammy Award-winning producer
Pete Anderson played
guitar, mandolin and bass. He brought in his partner Bob Bernstein
to add pedal steel guitar to the track - Bernstein recently gained
acclaim for his featured pedal steel work on the Academy
Award-winning score for "Brokeback Mountain". For background vocals,
Anderson called in one of the best in the business, Tommy Funderburk
who has contributed vocal work for a wide array of artists including
Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Boston and many others.

"True Colors" Tour
Here are some quotes from recent Andy Bell interview regarding the
forthcoming tour "True Colors" which is due to start in North
America soon after the current "Erasure Acoustic" tour has
finished (thanks to Steven Tattum for the transcript):
"Andy: ...We have done a few
things before acoustically like mostly on VH1. MTV don't really seem
to be great supporters of us but erm, I think it's really funny
because people are doing that now because it is about the song
writing and about your catalogue and I'm quite
a Cindi Lauper fan. I
met her one time, we were in Los Angeles and she was up by the pool
and she was pregnant with her last little baby and she came
up
and said: "Oh my God, oh I love you" and I didn't know what to say
and I was all really shy you know...
...We're supposed to be doing a
tour with her as well because after the this tour, the acoustic
tour, has finished there's a tour in America called "True Colors
Tour" which is after one of her songs and it's with
Scissor Sisters,
Cindi Lauper,
B-52's and us so it should be quite fun."

Andy Bell - "I'll
Never Fall In Love Again"
The release date of the new Andy Bell single "I'll Never Fall In
Love Again" has been pushed back to 29th May 2006. Here are some
info about this forthcoming single from Manhattan Clique email
newsletter:
"...Firstly, we are very glad to
be able to finally announce that the brand new single from Andy Bell
will be 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again', and will be released on
29th May 2006. There's a brand new radio mix from Goetz, who works
with artists like Sugababes and Faithless. He's turned out a lovely
new interpretation that will hopefully be on the airwaves very soon.
We've also been busy on the remix package. Our new friends Jaded
Alliance have given us a wicked electro house workout - you may know
them from their mix of Erasure's 'A Little Respect' on the excellent
'Future Retro' album on Reprise (currently only available on import,
but get yourself a copy on Amazon or similar). Also newcomer Mr Do
turns out an electro pop winner, while we've revisited 'Electric
Blue' with a couple of new mixes. The B sides are 'Jump' and 'Back
Into The Old Routine' - two tracks that only missed the album by a
close shave. Formats are still to be confirmed by Sanctuary, but
we'll be adding sound clips of all the mixes and tracks to the
'Productions' part of our site, and lots more news on the single
promotion to follow..."
"...Manhattanclique.com updates
After a lack of updates on our site for a while we thought we'd give
it a refresh, so we've changed its colour theme to green and also
added a few other new bits to it including:
* Lots of new remix clips in the remix section including our new
Andy Bell mixes!.."
"...We've also now got 2 new
myspace accounts, so please feel free to add us as friends at
www.myspace.com/manhattanclique and
www.myspace.com/groovecollision..."

Cole Porter Tribute
"Red
Hot + Blue: A Tribute To Cole Porter" is an eclectic musical homage
to the legendary songwriter benefiting AIDS research and relief. On
April 25th Shout! Factory will release the videos from this
successful benefit project on DVD for the first time, combined with
a newly remastered CD in the same package. "Red Hot + Blue" brings
together a diverse group of A list artists including U2, Erasure,
Sinead O’Conner, Tom Waits, David Byrne (who also directs one of the
videos) and more to cover Cole Porter gems such as “I’ve Got You
Under My Skin,” “Too Darn Hot,” “I Get A Kick Out Of You” and “In
The Still Of The Night.” Each artist brings their own unique,
sometimes loose, interpretation to these unforgettable hits. As with
the original release, all profits from sales will go to the Red Hot
Organization.
Considered one of the first major
AIDS benefits in the music industry, the original CD, released in

EIS Site Rewrite
You may have noticed that the EIS website has got a new look. As
well as looking different the site has also been rewritten (XHTML
1.0 Strict).
What does this mean for you guys? Well the rationale behind the
rewrite is to improve the accessibility of the site (with the
removal of all popup windows / new windows opening / iframes etc)
plus the pages should be more printer friendly.
The ultimate aim is to fulfil all of the W3C 'Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines', add some cool new visual stuff and a
search function. This is a large undertaking and is not yet complete
(hence the 'Releases' section still awaiting completion) - so if you
notice any broken links or pages not quite looking correct over the
next few weeks, then it's probably me tweaking things and will be
corrected.

Lucy McKenzie
Lucy McKenzie is the artist who made an artwork for the new Erasure
releases: EP "Boy" and "Union Street" album.
Lucy
McKenzie is young Scottish artist with a growing international
following. She was born in Glasgow in 1977. She studied at Duncan of
Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee and Karlsruhe Kunst
Akademie, Germany. Developing her own lexicon of passé utopias,
McKenzie draws relations between the most unlikely sources: East
European propaganda murals, German abstract painting, Cold War
iconography, industrialist typeface and 1980's pop music. From
money, pop stars, to Olympians, McKenzie paints fleeting moments of
idealism: symbols of transient seduction and power.

non-existing "Acoustic Promo" cd (see news above), the other one is
Lucy's Erasure-themed painting and the third one is depicting one of
the Moscow's metro stations ("Ploschad Revolutsii").
