This week The Saturdays' single "Issues", which Vince Clarke made remix for, is number five in Official UK Singles Chart (down from 4 last week).

And talking about The Saturdays here are some fresh news regarding their new connection with Vince Clarke. The Saturdays have been asked to record this year’s Comic Relief single. They have recorded the main single for 2009’s campaign and have chose a massive track to cover - Vince Clarke's electro-pop classic "Just Can’t Get Enough" (originally released as Depeche Mode single in 1981).

The single will be released 2nd March with Comic Relief itself taking place on 13th March.

Polly Scattergood is a singer songwriter from Essex, England. She has been described as "ethereal, dark, intense and quirky."

The brand new Polly Scattergood single, "Other Too Endless", is out on 23rd February on Mute. Taken from her debut album (released on 9th March 2009), the single, available on CD and download formats, comes backed with b-side "Crystal Breaks" while the download bundle also features a remix of "Other Too Endless" from pop maverick and label mate Vince Clarke.

'Sometimes' Video Clip

A rather interesting video clip this week, plus I get the opportunity to type the phrase "The Tom O'Connor Roadshow" which brings back so many memories of... well the 'The Tom O'Connor Roadshow' I guess.

Anyway...

Available now on TotalErasure, YouTube, MySpace etc is a 60sec clip of Erasure performing 'Sometimes' on 'The Tom O'Connor Roadshow' which was first broadcast in the UK back in March 1987.

The complete performance is featured on disc 4 (the DVD) of the 'Total Pop! The First 40 Hits Deluxe' box-set, which is released on the 23rd February (UK / Europe) and can be pre-ordered now.

'Total Pop!' North American Release

Both 'Total Pop! The First 40 Hits' (2xCD edition) and 'Total Pop! The First 40 Hits Deluxe' (3xCD & 1хDVD Boxset) are to be released in North America on the 24th February 2009 by Rhino / Warner Music Group.

An Erasure Evening In Moscow

An Erasure evening is being organized in Moscow on Monday, 19 January. The party will take place in “The Tunnel” club/bar which is located in the center of Moscow.

From 9:00 pm to 0:00 am only the best and favourite hits for the fans of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell. There will be also screening of one of the Erasure's live show!

"I Take Pictures: Photographic Pictures" Book

"I Take Pictures: Photographic Pictures" is a photo book with over 200 pages and 500 images, all shot by Fredrik J E Svensson during the last 10 years. The purpose of the book is to remember the performances you might have attended or wish you could have attended and at the same time make a contribution towards the battle against cancer. All proseeds will go to Cancerfonden in Sweden and their cancer reseach programme.

Some of the artists features in the book are: Erasure, Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Soft Cell, Nitzer Ebb, Mesh, Ladytron and many more.

The book consists of more than 200 pages and roughly 500 images. The format is 254 by 254 mm. The price of the book is 28 euros plus shipping and handling. The publisher expect to ship the book late February 2009 and is taking preorders now at this site: www.photographicpictures.net.

In conjunction with the release of the book there will be a number of exhibitions. The first one will be at Musikens Hus in Göteborg, Sweden. From February 1st to mid May you can view a number of the images from the book.
